What is a QR Code?

A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that stores data โ€” most commonly a URL โ€” in a pattern of black and white squares. Any smartphone camera can scan it to instantly open a link, share contact details, or join a Wi-Fi network.

This generator creates QR codes entirely in your browser. The content you encode never leaves your device, and you can download the result as a high-resolution PNG.

What Can You Encode?

๐ŸŒ Website URLs

Link to a landing page, portfolio, menu, or product page.

๐Ÿ“ถ Wi-Fi Credentials

Use the format WIFI:S:NetworkName;T:WPA;P:password;; to let guests connect instantly.

๐Ÿ“‡ Contact Cards

Encode vCard data so people can save your details with one scan.

๐Ÿ“ Plain Text

Share any short message, coupon code, or serial number.

About Error Correction

QR codes include built-in error correction so they still scan even if partly damaged or obscured. You can choose from four levels:

  • L (Low): ~7% recovery โ€” densest, best for clean digital use.
  • M (Medium): ~15% recovery โ€” a good default.
  • Q (Quartile): ~25% recovery.
  • H (High): ~30% recovery โ€” best for print or codes with a logo overlay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The code is static and encodes your content directly, so it works forever. (If the URL it points to changes, you would need a new code.)

Is the generated QR code private?

Yes. It is generated locally in your browser; the content you encode is never sent to a server.

Can I use these QR codes commercially?

Absolutely. The codes are free to use for personal and commercial projects with no attribution required.
